Employment Application and Use of Personal Information

In terms of the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (“POPIA”), The SPAR Group LTD at 22 Chancery Lane, Pinetown, is required to notify you of the information we collect and how we use it. All personal information you provide is stored securely. You have the right to access and correct any information held about you. You have the right to lodge a complaint about the use of your personal information with the Information Regulator at complaints.IR@justice.gov.za.

Applications submitted through PNET are protected under the Protection of Personal Information Act. By submitting your application, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this notice and consent to the collection, use, and processing of your personal information as described below.

1. Purpose: Your personal information is collected for the purpose of evaluating your application for employment with The SPAR Group LTD and its affiliated entities.
2. Retention: Your application and associated personal information will be retained for a period of 3 months from the date of submission, after which it will be securely deleted or anonymised, unless you are appointed, in which case your information will be retained as part of your employment record.
3. Voluntary disclosure: Provision of personal information for employment application purposes is voluntary.
4. Non-provision: Failure to provide requested personal information may result in your application being disqualified from consideration.
5. Sharing with third parties: Your personal information may be shared with authorised third parties, including recruitment agencies and background check service providers, solely for the purposes of evaluating your application for employment.
6. Right of access: You have the right to request access to the personal information we hold about you and to request correction of any inaccurate information.
7. Right to lodge a complaint: You have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator at complaints.IR@justice.gov.za. By submitting your application you consent to the collection, use, and processing of your personal information as described in this notice.
